Vacation Bible School Update
All Saints’ VBS focused on Compassion Camp and what every living thing needs. We had a wonderful time, with three rotations of four different stations. We learned Psalm 104 and all the poetic devices used, including onomatopoeia, metaphors, and concrete styles of poetry. We made crafts that focused on shelters, food, water, and air for all of God’s creation. We enjoyed games that led us all together in community with a spirit of fun and friendly competition. We broke bread together and leaned into the fifth thing all living things need to live: community.
One of the most beautiful parts of Vacation Bible School is the number of adults, teenagers, and children that come together to learn with each other, about each other, and especially about God’s love and plan for each of us. We are reminded in every way that no person is intended to walk this journey alone. We need companions as much as we need the air in our lungs to evolve into the beautiful creations, He has made us to be.
In the end, we had 21 youngsters participate, 14 EYC help facilitate, and 11 adults lead this year’s VBS. Without this community who loves Christ and desires to make disciples for Christ we would not have had such meaningful conversations, insights, interpretations, and moments where kids felt loved and accepted. Most important of all, everyone felt that they belonged in this community of Christ.
Thank you to all who helped make this possible!
