Meet Tom Lowe, Deacon Intern
Please welcome Tom Lowe to All Saints’! Tom will be completing a diaconal internship at All Saints’ from November 2022 through February 2023 as part of his discernment process with the Diocese of North Carolina. He will be present in Sunday worship and work with Deacon Vern’s ministry to elders in our community as well as with those who are currently unhoused by volunteering with Opportunity House.
Tom is a native of Belmont, NC and currently resides in Albemarle, NC. He received a BA in Music Education from Pfeiffer College in 1980 and earned an MBA from UNC Greensboro in 1985. Tom spent more than 30 years in Human Resources Management, including at Belk Stores Services, Charlotte, NC and Stanly Regional Medical Center, Albemarle, NC. He was confirmed at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Charlotte, NC on October, 23, 1994. As a long-time member of Christ Episcopal Church in Albemarle, Tom served in many capacities, including as a Lay Reader, Lector, Lay Eucharistic Minister/visitor, and member of the Choir. He was also on vestry for four terms, a chair of the Worship Committee, and an Adult Christian Formation facilitator.
Tom has two children and two grandchildren. As a former concert clarinetist, Tom enjoys sacred and classical music as well as performing as a tenor with the Evensong Choir at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, Salisbury, NC. He roots for UNC basketball and football. Tom enjoys reading non-fiction and history books as well as cooking. We are excited to have Tom serving in our midst as well as with the larger community.
