Lenten Food Drive
Sundays, March 8 & 15
Please bring your shelf stable food donations with you to church. All food goes to CCM’s food bank.
Lent is a time for reflection about Jesus’ last days on earth and traditionally has been a time for sacrifice. A time for “giving up”something. But it can also be a time for giving.
Jesus’ last meal on earth according to the Gospel of John was breakfast on the beach with seven of his disciples. Afterwards he commanded Peter, “Feed my sheep.” We can follow Jesus’ words by helping feed our food insecure neighbors through Cooperative Christian Ministry.
The need is great. CCM’s food bank provides assistance to over a thousand families each month. Please help by bringing shelf stable food Sunday March 8 through Sunday March 15.
Please help by bringing shelf-stable food to church with you on March 8 and March 15. The food bank especially needs:
Canned protein, especially chicken
Canned fruit
Canned beans
Canned soups and stews
Rice
Pasta and pasta sauce
Cereal
Oatmeal and grits
Peanut butter
Paper towels
