You rock!

YOU ROCK. Yes, You Rock, All Saints’!

“You Rock” was the theme of the March volunteer appreciation luncheon. Little did we know that three days later, we would close our doors to gatherings and cooperate worship. The miraculous part of this closure is the ministry and volunteer spirit has creatively continued! The church is not a building has been proven true time and time again at All Saints’. Never was this more evident than when Deacon Vern and I collaborated on a diocesan report on “Ministry and Social Justice Advocacy” in the parish we serve.

There has been no slowing down or stopping of outreach in this parish. We’ve just found different, more creative ways of serving and giving folks hope in our community.

Creation Care grew crops and fresh vegetables that were delivered to CCM. There have been on-going food drives to serve the increase of those needing food. This weekend another food drive and a virtual Tour de Saints’ will support CCM. Click here to participate.

School supplies for children flooded my living room, with drop offs by many of you and deliveries sent via Amazon!

Our youth have created notes of hope and love for residents in senior living homes.

Concord’s Campground Cemetery was cleaned up by helping hands.

Our campus was used as a staging site for a parade of families to see their loved ones at the senior living center next door.

Masks were made by many and delivered to clergy, childcare centers, schools, and essential workers in the medical field.

All Saints’ is also the site of monthly blood drives. We’ve also worked with Atrium Health to become part of their emergency planning at Northeast. All Saints’ will serve as a safe haven for Northeast employees to rest and shower in between shifts when they cannot go home, should the need arise.

All Saints’ continues to support CVAN with “Men for Change” and “Women for Women.” These are important ministries especially today as CVAN cares for an increase in women and children seeking a refuge from domestic situations as tensions rise during the time of COVID.

Racial Equity Cabarrus, Catalyzing Change Cabarrus, Sacred Ground, and other offerings addressing systemic racism continue in prayer vigils, marches, Zoom meetings, and online educational opportunities.

What an amazing and caring congregation! You, the people of All Saints’, are God’s people caring for God’s people and creation. Even during a pandemic, the people of ASEC are living into their baptismal covenant.

“YOU ROCK!” You are a blessing to so many as you walk into our community being the heart, hands, and feet of Jesus.

Keep on rocking, All Saints’!
